Piece of volcanic rock covered with thin brown micaceous crystals of possible Biotite to 2mm and tiny equant brown possible Augite to <1mm.
The old label accompanying this piece is handwritten and somewhat illegible and it's German, but my best guess is Augite. The label is from Wilhelm Maucher (Maucherite), a prominet early 20th century mineral dealer from Germany. Also, the address Schellingstr 73 on the label dates it post 1909, but no later than 1944 since the building was destroyed by allied bombing.
