Perhaps one of the coolest pieces on this update, a Gold leaf to 1.5cm across with a few smaller veinlets showing in milky Quartz. It sits good, flat on the base.
Tuolumne County placers alone produced 2.6 million ounces, which is greater than the Fairbanks district in Alaska according to Gene & Robert Allgood and John Pradenas, who published "Gold Occurences in Tuolumne County, California (Min. Record 1987, v.18 n.1, GOLD! Issue). They further state that the Mother Lode Belt alone produced nearly 32 million ounces! (Ref. Min. Record 1987 v18 n1). This specimen is obviously from the Quartz veining which swarmed along fault lines.
